Eisley is obsessed with dogs… or rather “ruff ruffs” or “doggies.” When we pass them at the park, she whines until she gets to pet them, even though she is slightly terrified to put her hand out once she gets close.
A few months before her 2nd birthday, I realized she should have a dog-themed party. We are not pet owners and don’t plan to be in the future, so having a party with our dog-owning friends was the perfect solution to Eisley’s puppy fever. We could ask our friends to bring their dogs, play with them for a couple of hours, and then send them home and hope she doesn’t get any ideas of asking for a pet in the future.
How to throw a puppy party as a non-pet owner:
- puppy cake toppers, puppy plates, and WOOF balloons from Amazon ✔️
- a cute dress for the birthday girl ✔️
- dog piñata from the mercado ✔️
- “pawsome” rubber bracelets for party favors ✔️
- menu of mini corn dogs, Paw Patrol fruit snacks, and a huge bowl of puppy chow ✔️
- choose a fully-fenced park for the location and invite all your friends to bring their REAL dogs ✔️
We got to pretend to be pet owners for two hours on a sunny Saturday afternoon. Eisley was in heaven, and it was just the right amount of animal cuteness for her mama.
