Dear Talitha, You are six, my little love. You came of age - so to speak - in the midst of a pandemic. You were wrapping up preschool and learning to read when Covid hit the globe and then you bounced around for your kindergarten year -- first at a learning academy in California and then at two different schools in Arizona with a little bit of "homeschool" in the mix. Somewhere in the midst of moving states and staying home and going to school... you officially made the transition from preschooler to big kid. I hear the inflection of maturity in your voice when you tell me stories now. You have a dry sense of humor, just like your dad, and you are hardly impressed with other people's antics, which is also just like your dad. Although you can be stingy with your affection, you've accepted me as one of your closest companions. I have been in your inner circle for a while, and I hope I always get a front row seat to watch your life and cheer you on. I love snuggling you at bedtime when you tell me your low and high of the day, and often ask me endless questions about the world at large. You are reserved in large groups, but you are never reserved with me. I pray the next few years are slow and boring for you, compared with the tumultuous times you faced between ages five and six. I hope you develop as a budding soccer player, get a chance to use your pretty singing voice, and master reading and writing. You are already better at math than I am, so I guess we don't need a calculator around the house anymore. We named you Talitha Joy - and our interpretation of its meaning is, "Little girl, arise with joy each day." Ironicallly, I arise with joy each day because God gave me you. Love always,Mama ... Dear Eisley (Four Years)
I truly believe that your name shapes who you are. When I was pregnant with you, we had to come up with a third girl name we liked in less in three years' time. For your older sisters, we had a few names picked out in advance, but when you came along, I felt like I should survey a few name lists to get some fresh ideas. I don't remember exactly where I first saw the name Eisley, but I instantly loved its simple meaning, "Cheerful." The Bible doesn't use the word often. We know that God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:7) and that those who are cheerful should sing praise (James 5:13), but the idea of having a cheerful heart or a cheerful countenance seems in keeping with living a humble and joyful life unto the Lord. In the few months since you turned four, I've watched your cheerful personality develop so much. You are talkative, smiley, and quick to give a thumbs up of approval when we ask you questions. Except for the occasional fight with a sibling, in which you cross your arms and pout dramatically, you live each day an abundance of good cheer. You just started a new preschool. And by new, I mean the school itself just had its grand opening this month. Due to this, the class sizes are still very small and you enjoy all the focused attention from your two teachers and the two directors of the school. You typically have only 3 or 4 other students in your class each day. As we were leaving one afternoon, only about a week after school started, you passed by the Director on our way out the gate. You ran to her and gave her a hug, exclaiming, "Bye! Thank you! You are my favorite teacher in the whole world!" When you noticed the Assistant Director standing a few feet away, you quickly said, "And you are my favorite teacher, too!" This kind of exuberance is why you live up to your name. I love you, my cheerful girl, and I'm so happy I get to witness your smiles, freckles, and thumbs up every single day. Love,Mama ... Read more

When a vaccine inventor gives a stark warning... I don't understand why today's journalists bother writing stories when they don't give both sets of data. If "the virus itself presents a much greater threat of heart complications than vaccine-related complications" then what are the numbers of children age 12-17 experiencing heart complications after natural infection? You need to disclose and compare both sets of data for that claim to be convincing... Mainstream media is FINALLY considering the idea that young children should not be masked... Needless deaths due to pandemic lockdowns... People were very interested in my new Inductive Study Bible that I shared on Instagram. Here are the study guide and Scripture journal I'm using as well. This song is so comforting and beautiful. Wait for the bridge... My current novel. I'm about 1/3 of the way done and so far it's interesting... ... Read more
