Growing // We haven’t weighed you since you were two months old, so who knows really? You started crawling in December and have stayed fairly steady since then. You probably weigh a little over 20 pounds. You’ve been hanging in Size 4 diapers and 12-month clothing for a while. I will probably pull out the 18-month clothing in the next few weeks as the weather warms up.
Eating // You LOVE to eat. You are losing interest in nursing, just quick feeds four times a day, but you are content to hang out in your high chair for 30 minutes if I keep the solid food coming. You have outgrown your love of puffs and oatmeal. You prefer food you can really munch on — apple slices, cut-up grapes, string cheese, crackers, sandwiches… you’ll take it all, please. You no longer have patience for being spoon-fed. You want to do everything by yourself. Thankfully, you have finally mastered the pouch and can suck one down in about 60 seconds without spilling it everywhere.
Doing // You started crawling right around Christmas as I predicted you would. You started out slow and wobbly for the first few weeks and now you cruise around the house with ease. You love to go into Zianne’s room and hang out with big sissies while they play. You are ever-so-close to pulling yourself up onto the furniture and enjoy it when we prop you up in a standing position. You reach for me to pick you up and you wave bye-bye (when you feel like it). You now sleep very consistently for naptime and through the night, but you no longer want to be rocked or held at bedtime. You push me away if I snuggle you too much and arch your back to get into your crib. You sleep in a sleep sack with a little gray panda bear lovey in your fist. You still have no teeth and you’ve held out on saying any words until just this past week. You have mastered “Dadadada” and babble it all day long. The cutest thing you do right now is greet new people with a big smile and then bury your head into my neck afterward as if you are being bashful. It’s precious.
Loving // Sucking your thumb, reading, bath time, playing with sissies, eating all the food, crawling and climbing, rifling through mom’s purse, pulling the books off the shelf
