For Eisley’s birthday, I wanted to do something casual, but I didn’t want to skip having a party altogether. I figured a donut celebration at our house would be easy and people could just drop in on a Saturday morning.
Lover of alliteration that I am, I decided the theme of the birthday would be “crowns and crumpets.” I probably should have called it “donuts and diadems” for accuracy, but it just didn’t have the same ring to it. Crumpets are technically a cross between a pancake and an English muffin, but our purposes they were pink and covered in sprinkles…
We had friends from church and preschool over, as well as Micah’s mom who flew into town with one of her best friends, just an hour before the party started. We set up a crown decorating table outside for the older kids and inside we chatted and consumed too much sugar.
Eisley calmly observed the chaos, nibbled on a donut, and enjoyed the wrapping paper most of all.
I kept the decor simple with a banner and some photos from Eisley’s first year and stuck with my trick of buying snacks that are kid-friendly and can be re-used in lunchboxes later in the week (individual chocolate milk cartons and applesauce pouches). Done and done!

It looks like you guys had a beautiful day! I have 3 littles around the same age as yours and I have enjoyed watching your sweet tribe grow over the last few years. As a fellow Christian, mom and wife, your Instagram posts have also been a huge encouragement to me more often than I can count. 🙂
