Hi there! I’m Jen Russum. I’m a wife, mom to three little girls, and a college English professor. Most importantly, I’m a Christian. I mess up often, but I am saved by Jesus, who lived the perfect life and died on my behalf. I belong to the Lord, and I live abundantly in His name, for His glory. You can read more about my faith here.
I started this blog in the summer of 2010, when Micah and I packed up a huge truck and moved from Washington to Arizona just two days after our honeymoon. It seemed like the perfect time to start a blog to document our adventures and keep in touch with friends around the globe. Since then, we have added three sweet daughters to our family, Zianne, Talitha, and Eisley, and we’ve moved to Orange County, California. Over time, this blog has transformed from a funny personal diary to an archive of family memories to a space to share God’s Word with other women. Here you will find what I call “narratives of grace,” stories of God’s goodness in the midst of everyday life… the mundane, the messy, and the miraculous. I hope reading these pages brings you great joy.
I attended graduate school at Arizona State University. I finished my PhD in Writing, Rhetorics, and Literacies in 2016, and I am now a professor in the English Department at Vanguard University of Southern California. I study digital literacies and how women are writing online, and I also direct the campus writing center. You can read more about my research here.
