My dear friend, Vanessa, had a little girl in April. They technically didn’t find out the gender, but she knew in her heart it would be a girl. When a few of us planned a shower for Vanessa, we decided to throw a whimsical garden tea party. Vanessa’s word for the year is “whimsy,” so we thought it would be fun to make the party as whimsical as possible. It got a bit girly, but since everyone was sure the baby was a girl {and it was… hello baby Rebekah!}, it worked out just perfectly.
The party featured a variety of brunch treats, mimosas, a Starbucks coffee bar, mismatched tea cups, and potted flowers for guests to take home. We hacked Vanessa’s Instagram feed to print her bump pics, and we had guests write encouraging and/or funny messages on chalkboards, which were photographed for an album.
It was a wonderful brunch, low-key, pretty, and whimsical in every way. {Here is our inspiration board for the party if you want to check it out!}
*A huge thank you to Jessi for her photography skills. Most of these photos are from her camera!
*And a huge shout-out to Rachel for all the lovely paper products for the shower.
